About Anatolia and Caucasus Studies

The Anatolia and Caucasus Studies (ANCA) is dedicated to exploring the rich and complex regions of Anatolia, Caucasus and interactions of this region with Central Asia. Our research spans a wide range of disciplines and themes, including anthropology, history, culture, geopolitics, social dynamics, migration, etc, with plans to incorporate emerging fields such as Gender Studies. ANCA aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the countries within these regions—Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia—and their interactions with Central Asia and other neighboring states. By addressing regional challenges and conflicts, we seek to offer both academic insights and practical solutions to foster stability and development. Our multidisciplinary approach ensures a holistic perspective, making ANCA a pivotal institution for those interested in the intricate tapestry of the Anatolian and Caucasian landscapes.

ANCA is a research initiative led by Humboldt University, in collaboration with some academics and institutes from University of Colorado, University of Toronto, University of Birmingham, Bilkent University, Midddle East Technical University and Human Development Research Center and with funding from third parties.
